I watch as the spotlight sun
fades to black.
The stars take center stage,
as the night sky rolls in.
My night-caller dials my dreams,
as she prays for the sun's return.
The hope pours out over her lips
like a cold days smoke.
As I am trapped inside
my love boat dream,
sailing the milky sea
I promise and preach
the healing power of love
that I am yet to know,
as if I spoke the gospel.
"Alas we may never be free!"
I say as I cast my stones
at crystal castles.
We accept ourselves as lepers
as they cleanse our skin with holy water
that stings with every drop.
The pressure forces me to deflate,
but her warmth and kindness
fill me with security.
I have discovered hope for the future
and that hope is her and others...
like us.

Mother's Milk
A roaring wind gives way
To a plastic autumn breeze
Bloodies with dizzying leaves the sun
And yanks immortal stars awry
Stuck to glassy wax forever in time
Beauty only eye deep in her hand
Capture a moment with a flap
Wings flutter that startle the heart
Spinning hands wound tight
A spaceboy dream floats through
Lives like rollercoasters get off track
Skipping paper through the pond
We are just watching the rust grow
But will tell only time
Songs from ashes cause sadness
But it is the place to be
Heavenly bodies stuck in gravity.
Dancing on the starry ballroom floor
People come and people go
This is the last summer for free
To a plastic autumn breeze
Bloodies with dizzying leaves the sun
And yanks immortal stars awry
Stuck to glassy wax forever in time
Beauty only eye deep in her hand
Capture a moment with a flap
Wings flutter that startle the heart
Spinning hands wound tight
A spaceboy dream floats through
Lives like rollercoasters get off track

Holy Ground
As I walk these hallowed grounds
I feel the sorrow of there desecration.
Forests fell and gave rise to this concrete jungle.
I stare at the cracks in the pavement.
The earth fights back as tiny blades
Force their way through minute holes.
My footsteps lack a feeling of genuine
And true reality, full of saccharin
And other artificial sweeteners.
I throw my shoes off and begin to feel
The soft, dew covered blades beneath
And in between my toes.
I breathe a sigh of relief and fill up
With nothing but pure gratitude for
Everything in my life.
I stare up into the night sky, I watch
The clouds drift idly by, stars disappear
Hidden by the thousands of city lights.
I beseech god and the universe
To please release to me their secrets.
I beg for my curse of hate to be lifted.
Suddenly it comes to me all at once.
Light spirals down and crashes into me.
I am lifted into the air, as the world spins.
I am filled with love and overwhelming emotions.
I am one, I am whole, I am complete.
Yet at the same time I am broken,
I am fragmented, and I am nowhere near
Complete.
But now I can see. I can see with eyes
Unclouded by hatred.
I feel my feet touch the ground once more.
I begin to move forward strafe by stride.
I understand finally. Just like that it vanishes.
A gentle wind blows and carries it all away.
A warrior is born, courageous and ready to lead.
I exit the concrete jungle,
I shove open the iron gates with incredible force
Into the unknown, I sail off.
I cross this border, pouring blood from my wounds.
At the edge of the forest I collapse.
Only love can save me now.
I feel the sorrow of there desecration.
Forests fell and gave rise to this concrete jungle.
I stare at the cracks in the pavement.

Countless Hours
All these countless hours drawing to a close, never
Ending, heading down the empty racks, running soft
And nimble fingertips down the cold, hard metal.
The tempest is rising, into the night sky, filling up
Like a tank about to reach its critical mass. Operatic
Tongues light ablaze, ready to sing the song of destiny.
Show me how to live, allow me to carry these battle scars
Torn asunder, the stitches cut right through, like a knife
Sinking into the softest tissue, pouring a crimson tide.
Jubilant laughter, echoing through the halls of my
Now forgotten school. Sitting idly, as the walls cover with
Jungle vines and the linoleum floors are replaced by
Rich, moist soil. I till the empty fields, sow them with seed
Of soul. How desperately I await for them to grow, to
Reap the sweet nectar filled fruits, spurting up from the
Shallow depths of my forgotten hallways. Fueled by
God, Love, and Light the tiny sproutlings push through,
Surface barriers are broken, as the roof of stagnation
Gives way to a cerulean sky. At long last having reached
Crowning heights, they shall flourish on their own.

A Sour Ode
We shed your skin
and tasted rebirth,
I'm a child with a craving
for your rejuvenating powers.
I tear at your soft flesh
with my razor teeth,
desperate
for your juices
I slice you into nice, clean
pieces,
enjoying the piece of mind
when life fills me up
with responsibility.
Your sticky residue fills me
with pleasure,
your nutrient rich fluids roll
down the bumps of my tongue,
playing with my taste buds
bursting like bubbles.
Jumping for joy at the sight
of the starfruit tree, I recall that day
in Cameron's backyard,
where a four year old
found a friend.
and tasted rebirth,
I'm a child with a craving
for your rejuvenating powers.
I tear at your soft flesh
with my razor teeth,

Unable To Explain
i bleed drops of Everclear,
and lick my wounds when i speak of life here,
i don't know how i do it...
everytime i speak to you,
i feel guilt.
i am unsure of myself
and the way i behave,
doing things i never wanted.
life is strange
when you stand for
something else,
something opposite
of the way you act.
destroying my,
soul-oh-so-slow;
regret.
i fill the hole,
with meaningless ritual
circadian rhythms,
swirl together
no sense of perspective.
but soon, i will
break free from
my chains.
and lick my wounds when i speak of life here,
i don't know how i do it...
everytime i speak to you,
i feel guilt.
i am unsure of myself

I Wanted To Be A Garbage Man, But A Sailor Stole My Glove
We beseech thee!
Show us the way to be free,
as the sheep gild their precious lillies.
Take us on a journey,
and then loudly ask,
"Where is our love and our light?"
"Alive!
Alive!
Alive!
Alive in us!"
Show us the way to be free,
as the sheep gild their precious lillies.
Take us on a journey,
and then loudly ask,
"Where is our love and our light?"
"Alive!
Alive!
Alive!
Alive in us!"
Oh How I Wish To Fly
Transcendent shadows peer over my shoulder
As I march with you to hallowed ground.
Oh how I never would have, nor wanted to...
I watch, as atlas shrugs from the weight.
I watch, as the straw breaks the camel's back.
I watch, as the water breeches the levee.
Your eyes pour forth like the fountains of Rome.
Another day living as Sisyphus.
But I promise you a land of milk and honey,
Someday we will leave this desert.
As I march with you to hallowed ground.
Oh how I never would have, nor wanted to...
I watch, as atlas shrugs from the weight.
I watch, as the straw breaks the camel's back.
I watch, as the water breeches the levee.
